TestQC USB has been developed since 2006 using KLIXs linux distro as a base which is a variant of Mandriva (now Mageia) linux distro. It uses the ncurses CLI user interface for all its processes and has a fairly small footprint, ranging from 300mb to 800mb. Sadly, circa 2010 the KLIXs distro finally died and was discontinued, so this TestQC was continued using the Ubuntu Linux distribution base, which starts from testqc-r29. Later on, the newer versions of the GUI interface were introduced since version testqc-r50.
